Yes! That is a well-made point about how the artifact you're left with on Dreamwidth is worthwhile on its own as a touchstone for your own brain, rather than something akin to a running commentary that becomes a product for others' consumption. I said it above, but I think that other social media has increasingly required all of us to market our posts as products, and people don't really interact with US so much as our product, and I think that is what sets apart something like Dreamwidth.

Even though Dreamwidth and the OTW are, to my knowledge, separate entities, I think there is a reason that Dreamwidth has remained alive if only as a thing that AO3 users utilize for exchange letters and stuff. Both AO3 and Dreamwidth are utilities created out of a need of something their users want to do whereas most social media platforms incite their users to do the thing the platform needs them to do in order to create free content for them to market something or other, to make money.
