So I have a Fandom Masterpost list. I was writing a post over on
addme_fandom and ended up putting together a pretty thorough list of ships. I decided I would copy-paste that portion here.
I don't engage in fandom just to ship, but I am very focused on relationships. This post is primarily about romantic ships, though I have briefly mentioned platonic relationships for a couple of fandoms. Maybe I will one day make a post about that, but it would be much, much longer. I appreciate gen stuff, and even some of the shipping vibes I have are more about potential than reality.
Without further ado, here is the list, last updated: September 19, 2024
Boku no Hero Academia/My Hero Academia
Pretty open-minded about multishipping but the above are the only ones I have invested a ton of thought into so far. BNHA is pretty new to me.
The Untamed
Heaven Official's Blessing
Genshin Impact
Type Moon / Fate/stay night
Haikyuu
The Wheel of Time
Dragon Age
Doctor Who
Good Omens
AOS
The main ship I am interested in is Skye | Daisy Johnson/Grant Ward. I am a big fan of redemption arcs which we didn't get in this show. I have only seen AOS through most of S2, but I took it back up again after rage-quitting after seeing gifs from S4. I will get there, eventually.
I also mildly like FitzSimmons and Coulson/May. I also like Skye | Daisy/Jemma (Skimmons) and the wholesome OT4 Bus Kids content from S1's halcyon innocent days. Other canon ships I didn't balk at.
MCU
Arrowverse
Young Justice
Other things are fine but I'm here for Dick Grayson/Artemis Crock/Wally West 99% of the time.
Young Avengers
Puella Magi Madoka Magica
I am mostly into Sakura Kyouko/Miki Sayaka. Homura/Madoka is... interesting but deeply unhealthy by the end of it, so I don't know if I ship it as such??? Anyway I am more interested in KyouSaya.
Steins;Gate/Robotics;Notes
Carmilla
Detroit: Become Human
The 100
I'm 1000% a Bellarke(r). I am happy that Clarke is canonically bi, but I kind of grapple with Lexa's character, so I just have a passive interest in Clexa. I'm not anti-Clexa, though. Or anti-anything. I am just here to ship AU Bellarke in peace. I also saw a really cute Murven video once that made my heart hurt. (Can we tell I like redemption arc-adjacent love stories yet?) Speaking of...
ATLA
Katara/Aang and canon-whatever-else is fine, but I am 90% into poly Katara/Aang/Zuko (several years down the line).
I also like the notion of Suki/Sokka having an open relationship which involves some level of not-committed-but-happy Sokka/Toph later on too.
And I like scary and interesting but eventually getting-healthier Azula/Ty Lee.
Regular Katara/Zuko is also fine, but I want Aang to be happy with something somewhere in that case. I'm like less interested in Katara/Aang without Zuko? But I don't dislike it as such.
The Hunger Games
Peeta Mellark/Katniss Everdeen. They were like my first canon ship that actually got to be together at the end of the story, however bittersweet. Any other ships are mostly thought experiments.
White Collar
I only care about Neal Caffrey/Peter Burke/Elizabeth Burke OT3. I don't mind Sara. Maybe it can be an open relationship where Neal goes off with Sara on crazy adventures when Peter and El visit in-laws who probably wouldn't understand their addition of a thief that Peter has arrested into their marriage.
Leverage
CANON OT3. That is all. And Sophie/Nate is fine.
The Librarians
I felt robbed by how they kept pushing Cassandra/Jake and infantilizing Ezekiel after S1. I prefer Cassandra/Ezekiel as a twosome, but I did also like the LiT OT3. I also would like Jake/Eve/Flynn based on that one episode where Eve found out that both Jake/Eve and Cassandra/Eve happened in alternate universes.
Star Wars
I like AniDala and ReyLo. Sorry not sorry. I also like the idea of AU Padme/Obi-Wan but for some reason never got on the poly-train here.
Portal
Chell/Wheatley in any interpretation where he used to be a human or achieves a human form, though for whatever reason I don't typically like was-never-a-robot-ball AUs. Blue Sky is one of the best fanfics to have ever fanficced, though I tricked myself into this fic before ever reading it.
Detroit: Become Human
Hank/Connor is the main reason I like it. Other things I could be persuaded by, but that's my OTP for this fandom.
Crossover Fandoms
INCEST MENTIONS BELOW. Skip to the end of the cut if it squicks you marked by ---
Narnia
Incest Mention
I like Pevencest, specifically Edmund/Lucy and Peter/Susan respectively. I think that it is interesting as a sort of examination of an Eden-like situation even though I think people put way too much pressure on Narnia as a one-to-one allegory. I am more interested in the fantasy world how-would-people-react-to-that-circumstance way. They grew up once and then had to de-age. By the time they grew up in Narnia, they had forgotten all about England. I am just fascinated by the conflict brought about there by what would one even do in a "we are the only four humans in our entire kingdom" situation.
Skins (UK)
Another singular incest mention
The incest ship I like in Skins is Tony Stonem/Effy Stonem. I view it as being messed up, but in an interesting way that is perhaps less unhealthy and strange than what the alternatives probably are. I kind of view it in a sort of Greek tragedy sort of way but hope nobody has to actually die.
Well, Freddie died. I also liked Effy/Freddie and was mad about that.
I also like Emily Fitch a lot. I think Naomi is interesting. And I think it is refreshing that if only one couple of Gen 2 got a "happy ending" that it was the lesbian couple. However, I thought that in the series proper that while it might've been a good growing experience for both of them, it didn't seem like the kind of ship that should've been endgame for either of them? I don't hate Skins Fire for Effy's sake, but I hate it for Naomi and Emily's sake. I would've preferred to just leave that book closed and to imagine that they eventually grew apart and mostly-amicably broke up.
I also have a lot of other thoughts about canon ships I guess but dunno if I wanna write a whole other post about them here.

At the very bottom of this list, there are a couple of sibling-incest ships. I've marked them so you can avoid them if you need to, though it is literally just a mention. |

Good Omens

- Steve Rogers/Peggy Carter (I dislike the "fix-it" in Endgame, though - can ask me why if you care to)
- Peter Quill/Gamora
- Tony Stark/Pepper Potts
- ??? Those are the main ones I care about. I'm not really a romantic Steve/Bucky fan, though I appreciate their friendship and feel it was cheated in Endgame. There are some others I guess I don't hate but can't be bothered to remember right now. I really dislike Bruce/Natasha but don't hate Clint/Natasha.
Arrowverse

Young Justice
Other things are fine but I'm here for Dick Grayson/Artemis Crock/Wally West 99% of the time.
Young Avengers
- Kate Bishop/Tommy Shepherd/Eli Bradley
- Billy Kaplan/Teddy Altman
Puella Magi Madoka Magica

I find Tony/Pepper adorable. They have great banter, and that's the thing guaranteed to attract me. I'd probably write all taking-heads fic if I could get away with it. LOL. Okay, I'll bite, why don't you like the fix-it in End Game? Although I think I probably know and have a feeling it's the same reason I don't either. You might have already mentioned it somewhere? I remember reading someone's complaints about that, I think. Argh. My brain is in really bad shape right now, I'm lucky I can string two sentences together.
I could write a list of my canon ships, but I'd have to break it down into categories. There are only a few fandoms I've been super invested in, participating, writing, reading, and more. Then there are those I'm tangentially interested in, where I'll enjoy and read some fic, watch the show, maybe even write a story or two but without the extreme emotional involvement. Then there are a lot of shows that I really love watching but nada fannish involvement. No writing, reading, etc. I really don't know why.

Date: 2019-12-02 05:14 am (UTC)From:Maybe I did post about the Endgame "fix-it" before? I will definitely get back to you about that, but I think it is something that might be worth making a standalone meta post about.
I also definitely have tiers of fandom investment, though mind tend to sort of rotate. There are some things I like, though, where I have very little interest in engaging with it beyond processing it mentally. I have almost... fandoms and then inspo-fandoms where I am sort of watching it because it is very character-driven but doesn't have a lot else going on. Then I end up regurgitating concepts from the latter into fic about the former sometimes, I think. No idea is original, I say...

Date: 2019-12-02 03:43 pm (UTC)From:I think it might have been somewhere else I read fans discussing their problems with Endgame. I confess I've been reading a lot of the comments at the Fandom Secrets archive. There's quite a bit of wank, but it gives me a good sense of people's opinions about a lot of media, and what fandom's been like the years I missed.

Date: 2019-12-03 06:59 am (UTC)From:There's a platonic Nine/Rose/Jack fic cycle that I like a lot.
Rin/Shirou/Saber is good. Though I want Illya to have a happy ending somewhere. /zero flirted with Saber/Iris pretty well.
Harry/Luna.
Mado/Homu but I treat Rebellion as fanfic by the authors, so its easier for me to take the series relationship in a better direction.
Just a few things sparked in response.

Date: 2019-12-03 11:31 am (UTC)From:Harry Potter kind of missed me. My parents are not ultra-conservative (idk, sometimes I wonder about my mom) but they were sometimes influenced by crazy thinktanks like Focus on the Family or whatever. And so anyway, my parents forbade Harry Potter in my early childhood, so I got into Artemis Fowl and Hitchhiker's Guide instead.
However, my childhood best friend was really into Harry Potter, and so strangely I was sort of into some Harry Potter fanfic when I was only loosely familiar with the canon material. I read some of Cassandra Cla(i)re's work in the fandom before she was outed as a plagiarist and ascended to professional authorship. I guess I was intrigued by the notion of what Dramione could've been had Draco been developed along the lines that fans, including CC, wanted about mid-series for the books.
The weirdest thing is that I don't really begrudge CC her imagination. I begrudge her sense of entitlement to other people's concepts. She makes fanfic of other canon and calls it her own canon. Or whatever. I am sometimes interested in the Shadowhunters TV series, but I have read that she continued her ways right into writing The Mortal Instruments (which were, hilariously, named after a now-deleted Ron/Ginny incest fic).
Personally, I dislike the idea of shipping Illya in her physical form as it is. It is a tragic concept: the adult-mind in a childlike body. But Illya ages slowly not none-at-all. So assuming that she lived through aging into a more mature body and Sakura got therapy, Sakura/Illya is something that I have entertained.
I ignore the last part of Rebellion, but I can't believe how much it fed my KyouSaya-loving soul.

Date: 2019-12-06 05:32 am (UTC)From:All the CC stuff pretty much passed me by.
I can understand that (Illya). Not clear to me how old her physical age is meant to be... ouch, the wiki says "her father, Kiritsugu Emiya, correctly assesses that her physical body will not develop secondary sexual characteristics." That's unfortunate if she nonetheless develops sexual desires, which I also don't recall for sure. Looks like her happiest 'canon' ending was the Fate route.
Heh, I can imagine. (KyouSaya feeding.)

Date: 2019-12-07 08:42 am (UTC)From:The CC stuff is hilarious if you read the account of it.
If you hung around the Fate fandom that I've been a part of, the wiki is notoriously full of fanon that may or may not line up with the truth. Like, there are citations that one can read that are legitimate, but it also isn't a well-reviewed authority the way some other wikis are. There are a lot of issues that I hate on the Beast's Lair forum, but at one point they tried to fix some of the errors and falsehoods on the wiki, only for whoever pretty much camps there/runs it to revert the changes. Then they thought about making their own wiki, but they're too busy being memelords many of whom are being slowly radicalized by the right to care anymore.
That said, there are times when canon just stinks and I elect to ignore it. Particularly in Illya's case, it seems like everything about her 'lore' is to provide and justify a specific fetish. It doesn't actually serve a purpose beyond "fuck her as a child-body or not at all, don't you feel sorry for how lonely she is, age-wise she is an adult but poor baby," blahblahblah. It just smells to high heaven of a dude bending over backwards to justify a thing.
And the notes about her never developing secondary sexual characteristics are form Zero afaik? And people love to spit on Zero's authority over canon unless it justifies something that sucks.
lol I have a lot of very ambivalent feelings about Fate even though I would say I like it.
