I'm glad! I don't ever mean to be callous or pointlessly offensive. However,a lot of walking on eggshells on fandom tumblr for a while made me really unhappy, and I've been trying to learn to be at peace with my own thoughts and feelings more besides. I do think that a lot of the collective attitude comes from a changing generational demographic, but it's just a difficult thing to be around.

I don't presume to speak over you since you definitely has a personal stake in it. One of the things I would remark is that Hydra's legacy in Marvel has a long-standing history dating back to actual World War II, doesn't it? However, I do find it disturbing, as an observation I read on tumblr a while back stated, that it turned out that the most unrealistic thing about CA:TWS was that the Nazis actually had to hide in a government organization to achieve power. Yikes.

I reiterate again: more than anything, I like redemption stories for some characters.

I think that there must be a fine line between acknowledging a history, making allusions, representing allegories in fiction to a purpose, and in romanticizing or scapegoating whatever the topic is, be it Nazism or another historical atrocity like American slavery and systemic racism. I don't know enough about it to try and write anything super conclusive about it, though.

I'm qualified to teach English. However, because I'm working as an interim teacher right now, I have been standing it for a history and government teacher who had a baby back at the end of October. I'm thinking about testing to add on government to my certification. I really enjoy that. History is very hard to teach for testing, though.
